Stereolithography(SLA) is a process where high powered ultra-violet lasers are directed into a basin of liquid polymer resin solidifying those areas.  The part is created in layers from the bottom up, each layer only thousandths of an inch thick.  The result is a precise physical copy of the virtual computer model significantly lower in price than conventional prototyping, and delivered to you in a fraction of the time.
SCICON continues to use the latest in Stereolithography technology to generate solid or flexible, highly detailed functioning parts from your drawings, blueprints, or 3D-CAD files.

Application
Limited production runs
Rapid tooling
Master patterns for investment casting
Form, fit, and function testing
Concept communication modeling
Specifications

Selective Laser Sintering(SLS) Create parts and physical prototypes fast - by skipping the tooling step. The SLS system and materials enable you to create durable, metal, plastic, or rubber-like parts directly from any solid CAD model in as little as one day - and without dependence on costly tooling or skilled labor.
Application
High-temperature applications
Metal tooling inserts
Complex geometries and features
Short runs of metal parts and prototypes
Benefits
Parts and inserts from CAD data - no tooling
More productivity from existing skilled labor
Characteristics similar to P20 steel
Eliminates tool making or casting
Fully dense, annealed inserts and parts
Heat resistance
”Tool-less” manufacturing

CNC Machining -SCICON offers full service CNC machine shop. Whatever the material and whatever the specifications you give us, from complex tooling of plastics to titanium toothpicks, SCICON can do it.

When you're looking for something functional, we can help. Metal or plastic, our High-Tech precision CNC shop will give you a working product to test your ideas. Check out our Machine Shop.

3D CAD - Engineering Services - At SCICON we work exclusively in 3-D CAD because it allows us to turn your 2 dimensional design, be it put into a blueprint or a rough sketch, into a working 3-D computer model. You can view the part from any angle - all before you go into production. In addition to turning your 2-D design into 3-D, we can also reverse engineer an existing part into a computerized 3-D model.

SCICON offers complete design engineering services. Even if you only have a rough idea of what you want, we work with you on a journey from concept to physical products.
